Mitten auf dieser Düne steht der 1899 errichtete Leuchtturm Rubjerg Knude Fyr, der am 27. Dezember 1900 eingeweiht wurde und bis zum 1. August 1968 seinen Dienst versah.

Aufgrund des Wanderung der Düne versandete der Leuchtturm ab dem 1990igern immer mehr und durch die immer weiter fortschreitenden Erosion drohte er ca. 2020 in die Nordsee zu stürzen. In einer aufwendigen Rettungsaktion wurde er jedoch am 22. Oktober 2019 um ca. 70 Meter ins Landesinnere verschoben, um ihn noch weitere Jahre zu retten:
